CARPENTER ANTS
Carpenter ants are a serious pest of
structures in the Pacific Northwest. They
frequently hollow out wood to build their
nest, but can also nest in any moist or
humid hollow void. Carpenter ants
prefer moist, humid conditions, but can
also be found in seemingly dry areas.
They are commonly found in structures
where water leaks have occurred. Leaks
often occur in roofs and eaves where
gutters are clogged or defective, and in
kitchens and bathrooms around plumbing
and fixtures.
